Foxtail ("Grass Awn") Warning

This beautiful and brave Bulldog was sniffing around during a walk outside and he started sneezing violently.

The sneezing subsided and then waxed and waned until a few days ago when we finally committed to anesthetizing him and taking a look inside his nostrils.

Lo and behold check out the huge grass awn that I removed through the scope! This poor boy's nasal passage was pretty inflamed and angry but he is feeling much better now!

Moral of the story: It's foxtail season. Please be very careful when out walking with your pups. Foxtails can get caught in nostrils, between toes, and in ears. Removal usually requires sedation or anesthesia because it's so painful!

Please call or email with any questions!
