Stenotic Nares Surgery for Brachycephalic Breeds

Meet "Beau Jackson". This handsome 7 month old lug of an English Bulldog had a terribly long soft palate.

Two weeks ago I neutered him and surgically removed the excess soft palate tissue. Look at the difference in these photos! Beau is doing great and will now be far less likely to suffer from heat stroke this summer.

Bulldog (brachycephalic) breeds suffer from an array of airway defects including a narrow wind pipe ("hypoplastic trachea"), tight nostrils ("stenotic nares"), and an over long soft palate that flaps up against the opening to the wind pipe with every breath. Stenotic nares and over long soft palates can be surgically corrected.

I have developed an expertise with these airway corrective surgeries and am fortunate enough to help a few bulldog's each week.

I am here to help!

Sincerely,
Dr. Kimberly Daffner
