Thoughts regarding this past week...... And 2 nice photos with nice stories attached.....: I am blessed to own an "essential services" business. Thank god for veterinary hospitals, veterinarians, and veterinary support team members. We had a heck of a week. Our Valet Curbside Service has been keeping clients and employees safe. We have provided health care to many wonderful pets. We have been here to provide advice to many special clients. I have somehow survived 6 long days in a row as the owner of this extraordinary business and also as a very busy veterinarian. We will be closed tomorrow but start up again Monday morning at 8 a.m.
The first photo below is of my veterinary assistant Natasha and she is cradling a very sweet 20 year old cat with on oral tumor. We believe that even old cats with cancer should be able to live their best lives for as long as it makes sense to do so.
The second photo is of my veterinary assistant John and a very photogenic dog named "Harry" that we are treating for heartworms. Harry was rescued from the Asian meat trade. Harry is also a reminder that we have heartworm positive dogs here in LA County and so all local dogs MUST be on heartworm prevention. Heartworms are a very deadly mosquito transmitted disease. We have an exciting product available: Simparica Trio
-- This is a wonderful monthly chew tablet that protects dogs from fleas, ticks and heartworms.
So, I'm headed home and ready for a bath and a day off.
Much love to all of you out there....
